Hi, I’m Dr. Balamsia Golo, and I’m thrilled to bring a fresh, modern approach to dentistry right here in Oceanside, NY. Unlike corporate-owned practices, Oceanside Dental Studio is a privately owned office focused entirely on YOU—your health, your comfort, and your smile.
If you take a moment to read my name, you’ll quickly realize it’s not a common one: Balamsia Golo. My roots trace back to Chad, Africa, where my parents are from. I spent most of my early years in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where I attended a French school until high school. I later moved to the U.S.—first to New York City, then to Long Island, which I now proudly call home. I’m fluent in French and English, and I dabble in Spanish as well.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from SUNY New Paltz, then took a few years to work as a caddy at Hempstead Golf & Country Club, Cherry Valley Golf Club, and Bethpage Golf Course—yes, the Black Course! Golf became a passion of mine, teaching me patience, integrity, and focus. At my best, I was a single-digit handicap and always preferred walking the course. Eventually, I followed my calling to healthcare, earning my dental degree at Rutgers and completing my residency at Nassau University Medical Center (NUMC) during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic—a time that revealed the true strength and resilience of our community.
I’m deeply passionate about dentistry, especially helping patients feel relaxed and cared for. I know many people experience fear or anxiety about visiting the dentist, and it brings me great joy to help them overcome that. I’m committed to using modern, minimally invasive techniques and embracing innovations like AI and digital dentistry to make care more efficient and comfortable. Whether you’re interested in dental implants, Invisalign, or teeth whitening, I’m here to support your goals with compassion and precision. Outside of dentistry, I enjoy hiking, reading, and listening to audiobooks. I’m also an avid sports fan—you’ll find me cheering for the Knicks, Liberty, Jets, and Yankees. My love for golf continues to this day, and I never pass up the chance to explore new courses. As a self-proclaimed foodie, I’m always up for trying new cuisines and discovering hidden culinary gems.
